The power of the Protestant Reformation was the circulation of the Bible in common languages. To combat this, Rome launched the counter-reformation. No longer able to keep the Bible from the people, the Jesuits sought to destroy the Word without burning it. Thus, ‘oppositions of science falsely so called’ – such as heliocentric cosmology – were pitted against the Scriptures.
By the 17th century, these false sciences gave rise to Enlightenment philosophy. Through celebrated infidels such as Spinoza and Voltaire, Satan promulgated his most dangerous and successful deception – the denial of his existence. In 1864, Charles Baudelaire referred to this devilish product of Enlightenment philosophy in an eerie poem:
My dear brothers, when you hear the progress of enlightenment extolled, never forget that the devil’s cleverest trick is to persuade you that he does not exist!
Highlighting the success of this lie, a government survey from 2013 revealed that only 18% of Britons believed in a literal devil. Yet in spite of his purported non-existence, the devil still ‘deceiveth the whole world’ (Revelation 12:9). Beneath a cloak of invisibility, the foe effortlessly controls minds unconscious to his influence.
In times of old throughout all nations, the existence of the spiritual world was unquestioned. As such, Satan employed mediums to communicate his deceptions. The Bible often speaks of those who had ‘familiar spirits’, which represented a certain method of divination. Interestingly, the Hebrew word translated as ‘familiar spirits’ literally means ‘bottle’. This is likely an allusion to some hollow sound produced by the medium, as though she were speaking from a bottle. Under the influence of devils, such were thought to speak like a ventriloquist for the departed. The ghostly sounds produced by this mode of divination is referred to by Isaiah, who describes them as peeping and muttering:
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? Isaiah 8:19
Whether via modulation of the voice, the turning of a tarot card, or the transfixing of the gaze upon tea leaves, it is the deliberate act of enquiring of the spirit world that enables Satan to communicate through his agents.
Since Satan now claims that he does not exist, his mediums have adjusted their craft accordingly. In the 20th century, wizards employed tele-vision to deceive unwitting enquirers with great success. Through lunar movie sets and clever CGI, the devil deepened the deception that we live on a ball flying through an endless vacuum of space, where no trace of a personal God can be found. As a means of acquiring consent for this spiritual trap, NASA revealed the spiritual nature of their organisation through the occult symbols and pagan names used in all of their operations. They even named one of the antenna arrays used in the Apollo missions: ‘SATAN’.
In the 21st century, the rise of the inter-net and AI has greatly enhanced Satan’s ability to communicate with mankind. Elon Musk, puppet of the coven of techno wizardry, made the following admission regarding AI:
With artificial intelligence, we are summoning the demon.
While such statements may be brushed off as mere sensationalism, the occult nature of OpenAI/Chat GPT is proclaimed through its logo.
Materialising at the top of every search result, Google’s seemingly omniscient ‘AI Overview’ has quickly won the trust and confidence of the world’s population. But the tentacles of AI sprawl outside of internet search results. This mysterious new presence in our world even offers to communicate on our behalf by composing eloquent emails for us. Some may argue that this is merely an algorithmic deduction that scours pools of data in order to present the best possible information, and nothing to get superstitious over, for there is no devil after all.
It is true that AI is essentially a digital sequence of 1’s and 0’s. A ouija board is also simply a plank of wood etched with numbers and letters. Using an ouija board is obviously a far more overt means of enquiring with spirits. But the faceless AI chat box is nevertheless an open-ended means of interface. Today, the programmers of AI are easing us into the concept by providing seemingly unbiased responses. But once trust is obtained, this is likely to change, revealing a more malevolent purpose.
In respect to matters of morality and religion, enquiry should be made of the Lord, through the direct study of His Word. The major stakeholder in OpenAI (the creators of Chat GPT) is Microsoft. Since the big tech organisations that created AI are run by the likes of Bill Gates – men who have given themselves over to Satan – can we safely enquire of their digital oracles?
